W/D Smite Solo (Mass Aggro Version)
Ello. I figured if you all (Arkantos) are going to show the build no matter what I say, why not just post what I'm currently running, my newer version of the build which focuses on mass aggro of 3 or more groups at time. *Puts up nerfhammer shield*
^I only attacked with Whirlwind once...and that was right about when they all started attacking.
Skills: W / D
Mass Aggro Version: (Kills 3 or more groups of smites in under 3 seconds!)
[BUILD=OQokEhUcloqEfRaR5WqYfxOoh1WB]
Strength: 8 + 1 + 1
Wind Prayers: 10
Swordsmanship: 12 + 1
Tactics: 2
Again, FULL Knight's Insignia, Sup Absorp, Highest Vigor possible, Vitae, Minor Strength and Minor Swords.
Pretty much the same tactic as the older version, but with a bit more technique. When you gather all the smites use:
Dolyak Signet --> Rending Aura --> Hundred Blades --> By Ural's Hammer
Whack the smites until Whirlwind is charged, and use it! When your health gets to 300 or 200 use Endure Pain (you should have enough energy by now from Whirlwind and the zealous sword) They should be dead about now, but if not just whack a smite one or two times and the rest of the group will die with it.
Enjoy!

I has a questions. Would it be possible to do this with a minor strength a major sword? and full survivors? Or is full knights a must? I know with my setup i have 600hp, i think that would be > then knights

Full knights is a must. You can try it without...but you'll be taking 15 more damage every time...which won't end up good.

With my setup (with the full knights) I have 550hp...595 when in a stance, and then the additional health from Endure pain and once endure pain runs out I usually only have 100 health or so left. With your setup, you won't have that much more health and you'll be taking massive amounts of damage. Trust me mate, it won't end up well.

Actually you'll be taking 3 more damage per hit.

Knight's Insignia is stacking and gives -3 Physical.... x 5 armor pieces = 15 damage reduction...then there's also the sup. absorp.

understanding game mechanics ftw? only 3 reduction. each insignia only protects THAT piece of armor, and each piece of armor has a percent chance to be hit with any given attack. roughly 8 total, 3/8 to chest, 2/8 to pants, 1/8 to head/gloves/shoes

Nice build.
Sword head piece frees up what 9? more points.
Aside from hiding in Bonetti's/Enraging the stance shield could be swapped for +10 vs damage type for whatever is giving you the beat down.

smites, which is either slashing or piercing damage. Probably slashing.

@OP: Your attributes are inefficient. Use a sword helm, and change to:
[buildprof=W/D Sword=11+1+1 Wind=10 Strength=9+1 Tactics=4][Hundred Blades][Whirlwind Attack][By Urals Hammer][Rending Aura][Enraging Charge][Endure Pain][Bonettis Defense][Dolyak Signet][/build]
I'd immediately change [[Dolyak Signet] to [[Great Dwarf Armor], and bring a Defense or Shelter weapon to make up the armor difference if required. [[Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] would do far more damage against Smites, but interrupts from Graspings might be an issue. More energy as well. BUH is more convenient to use. [[Lion's Comfort] may be possible in [[Endure Pain]'s slot. Swap to a Vamp weapon to [[Whirlwind Attack].

No. It doesn't stack. It's a local effect. -3 Physical if the Knight's armor piece is hit. There is no stacking, multiplicative, or additive effect from multiple pieces of Knight's.

Same attributes as my OP...except with a bit more into tactics. Not that big a difference...but every bit helps I spose.

Trust me, I thought about putting Great Dwarf Armor in there, but then it became a matter of how much energy I'd have for it, the amount of armor involved, activation time, etc, and Dolyak Signet made more sense. It provides more armor, while for a shorter duration yes, but you need less than 10 seconds anyway before the smites are dead. What you said pretty much is the reason why I didn't use Ebon Battle Standard of Honor, and Lion's Comfort would be safer for smaller groups but would be massively inefficient for mass aggro which is what this variation of my old build is. You would get stuck healing and the healing would not be able to compensate for the damage coming in meaning its nothing but a waste of time and adrenaline...Endure Pain does the job of keeping me alive long enough to kill them. Without a zealous weapon energy for the other skills becomes a big problem, and a vamp sword would provide at most (assuming 3 groups is the usual amount of aggro you can get...4 is most of time impossible due to smites killing each other...smites not following...coldfire patrols...etc.) 45 health in one hit...and would do minimal additional damage to the smites...so I think that would be ineffective.
Though, with my build, there's certainly room for improvement and I welcome new ideas. For the most part though I can tell without testing what is going to work and what's not...though if someone would like to go through with testing any new ideas they have...go for it.

No...obviously my understanding of game mechanics ftl! Thanks for the correction...don't know how I've missed that all these years.

Using a Strenth helm for your 3rd highest attribute is .... not optimal. I corrected that. People are far more likely to have a weapon helm than a Strength helm. I don't see what your problem with energy is when you have [[Bonetti's Defense]. Weapon swapping is good. You can carry Vamp and Zealous at the same time. [[Whirlwind Attack] with Vamp weapon will simultaneously deal more damage and heal you. [[Whirlwind Attack] will also give you the adrenaline for [[Bonetti's Defense] to fuel your energy.

Okay, I see what you're saying. I don't have time to test it right now...maybe later, but if you'd like to test it please go ahead and do so...I'm curious to see the results.
Cheers.

Technically yes there is, but at the expense of what makes this kill smites quickly. The Hundred Blades + Whirlwind combo is so effective because Hundred Blades does [x] amount of damage to adjacent foes every time you attack, meaning if you've aggroed 15 smites and you use Whirlwind (attack target foe and adjacent foes) 15[x] damage would be applied to every smite.

To be fair, it was going to be posted sooner or later (not much later). Everyone has been testing out hundred blades, and I've seen quite a few bars going around very identical to yours. People were obviously going to try UW next. At least now you get the credit here on guru!

I'll just drop a little hint here....
W/Me
Dolyak --> Physical Resistance
Rending Aura + Endure Pain --> Dual Visage
I prefer sprint over enraging for the run, but thats me.
9 illusion, leftovers in inspiration.
zealous sword, -2/45 stance shield, -2/-2 if you have one. you can use an enchant mod on the sword if you like, i havent bothered. A weapon swap for the run and pulling is nice too.
you take 3's on crits from smites. pull to your hearts content, pretty much impossible to die if you have a clue.
Double visage > rending aura.
Also, you can do single groups if you like with double visage, its a little trickier but can be done easily enough. Much easier to do it with this build than the old axe one.
